Ingredients

  • 1 tea bag Chamomile
  • 1/2 Lemon Juiced
  • 1-2 teaspoons Honey Dark Amber colored raw honey is best
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  • Put water in a coffee mug.
  • Warm water in the microwave for two to two and a half minutes (If you are using the stove, bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan. If you’re using a coffee pot put the tea bag in like you’re making coffee.)
  • After the water is almost boiling, put the tea bag in hot water. Make sure the whole bag gets wet.
  • Let tea bag steep in hot water for four to five minutes inside the microwave (not cooking), or on the counter with a small saucer on top.
  • Remove mug from microwave and remove the tea bag from the cup.
  • Squeeze lemon juice in, trying to avoid the seeds. (If a seed slips in the cup, just use the spoon to fish it out.)
  • Add honey. Stir until dissolved.
  • Drink hot as you can, but don’t burn yourself. The warmer the tea, the better for your throat.

Notes

  • Chamomile tea is great to use for this recipe, but other herbal teas work too! Try peppermint, lemon ginger, or any other herbal tea you have.
  • I've used a lime as a substitute to the lemon in a pinch.
