š“ The 8th Side ā PokĆ©mon Tournaments & Collectibles in Lincoln Park, MI | Zelandaās Kitchen
If you’re ever in Lincoln Park, Michigan, and looking for a place where fandom, family, and friendliness intersect, let me introduce you to The 8th Sideāa cozy, bustling spot that just might become your new go-to for PokĆ©mon tournaments, collectibles, and community vibes.
š® Why We Went
This visit was plannedāmy son found a PokĆ©mon tournament hosted there, and we decided to make it a family outing. The minute we walked in, the space was full of energy and excitement. There was a steady flow of tournament players, casual browsers, and fans soaking in the atmosphere. It had that perfect blend of lively and welcoming, where youāre not just a customer, youāre part of the scene.
One of the owners took the time to talk with us and share how the place got started. That conversation stuck with me. Itās clear they care not just about the business, but about creating a place that feels personal and connected.
š The Food & Missed Opportunity
Iād been hoping to try their noodles (I had them in my sights!), but unfortunately, we arrived just as the kitchen was closing. Next time, Iāll be sure to get there earlier. We did grab a couple of drinks (a Pepsi and a Sprite), and the kids stayed entertained while exploring their corner filled with PokĆ©mon cards, anime merch, and other fun collectibles.
šļø The Experience
While we didn’t come home with new cards this time, I loved seeing the care and personality that goes into how they curate the shop. Itās not overly commercialāit feels like a space made by fans, for fans. Even if you’re not deep into the fandom, there’s something charming about places like this where community and passion take center stage.
š Final Thoughts
The 8th Side blends nostalgic charm with modern community energy. Itās the kind of spot you root for, and want to see thrive. Even though we didnāt get to try the food this time, the people, the vibe, and the thoughtful layout of the space made it totally worth the visit. Iāll definitely be backāand next time, Iām getting the noodles.
