🛍️ A Full Day of Errands, Food Stops & Little Moments (With the Kids 💜)

Some days aren’t planned to be anything special… and somehow end up being everything.
This was one of those days — just me and the kids out running errands, checking things off the list, grabbing food along the way… and somehow turning it into a full day of little wins, laughs, and memories I didn’t expect.
Let me walk you through it 💫
🎮 GameStop (Great Lakes Crossing) — A Proud Mom Moment
We started the day at GameStop inside Great Lakes Crossing because my daughter was ready to sell her Nintendo Switch Lites and use the money toward something new.
From the moment we walked in, the process felt easy and straightforward. The store had that fun, slightly nostalgic GameStop energy, and it was easy to find the counter and get started.
The staff were really helpful and patient, walking us through everything step by step so we knew exactly what to expect. No confusion, no pressure — just a smooth process.
But the real highlight?
Watching my daughter complete the sale and walk out proud of herself 🥹
She made her money and ended up buying roller skates afterward ❤️ and honestly, that moment made the whole stop worth it.

🛍️ Great Lakes Crossing — Quick In, Easy Out
I’ll be honest — I didn’t plan on “going to the mall” that day. We were really just there for GameStop.
But it actually turned out to be a really easy and convenient stop.
If you go in through the right entrance, you can avoid walking the entire mall. We used the map right by the door and went straight where we needed to go.
The mall itself felt clean, welcoming, and visually nice, with plenty going on if you actually want to spend time there.
We didn’t stay long, but it worked perfectly for what we needed — quick, smooth, and no stress.

🌮 Chipotle — Busy, But Worth the Wait
After the mall, the kids were definitely ready to eat.
We stopped at Chipotle, and it was busy — there was a line, and you could tell they were in the middle of a rush. But we waited it out, and to their credit, the line kept moving.
The staff were working hard — not the fastest pace, but steady and getting people through.
We ended up ordering 5 kids build-your-own taco meals, and honestly, that worked out perfectly. We didn’t have time for full bowls, so this was a smaller, quicker option that still filled everyone up.
And for the price? It’s actually a really good deal. You get:
– three items (I did double honey chipotle chicken with white rice 👀)
– chips
– and a drink or juice
The food was solid and satisfying, exactly what we needed in that moment.
Now… real life moment 😅
My daughter had to use the bathroom, and the women’s restroom was out of toilet paper. Luckily the men’s restroom had some, so we made it work.
Not ideal, but also… parent life 😂
Overall, it was a busy stop, but still a good one.

🎮 GameStop (Troy) — Just Missed It
Later in the day, we tried another GameStop to sell more of my son’s Nintendo Switches.
We got there about an hour before closing… and just missed the window.
They let us know they don’t buy items within an hour of closing, which I didn’t realize before going in. Definitely something to keep in mind.
Even though it didn’t work out, the staff were still friendly and respectful, and they didn’t just send us away — they actually pointed us to another store nearby that might be able to help.
That kind of guidance goes a long way.

🔄 Disc Replay — Honest & Helpful
We followed that recommendation and headed over to Disc Replay.
Right away, the store felt welcoming, and the staff took their time checking everything over.
They explained that they don’t refurbish items — they only resell — so because one of the controllers had a sticky button and the joystick pad was worn, they couldn’t accept the consoles.
It made sense, and I appreciated how clearly they explained it.
Even though we didn’t complete the sale, they were still patient, respectful, and helpful, which made it a positive experience regardless.

🎨 Michael’s — Creative Stop + A Little Nostalgia
Next, we stopped at Michael’s to grab supplies for The Mr.’s birthday Rice Krispies treats 💜
The store had a creative, calm energy, and it was easy to browse without feeling rushed.
We went in looking for:
– sprinkles
– cookie cutters
– food coloring
The only downside was that some of the sprinkles and food coloring either had ingredients we couldn’t have (milk/gluten) or didn’t have clear labeling, so we had to skip those.
But we did find some really cute cookie cutters and silicone molds, so it balanced out.
And of course… I had to stop by the yarn section 😂
I fell in love a little.
It actually brought back memories of going to Joann’s with my Granny growing up — she used to make hats and dolls, so being in a space like that always hits a little different 🥹
The staff were friendly and helpful, and even gave the kids a little hint about Mother’s Day ❤️🌷

🥤 Speedway — Slushie Break (Much Needed 😂)
At this point, we needed a break.
So… slushies it was.
It was a little busy, but still easy to get in and out. The vibe was laid back and quick, which is exactly what you want at a stop like this.
I got a Coke slushie, The Mr. mixed Sour Patch Watermelon with cherry, and the kids… well…
They mixed everything 😂
I couldn’t even keep track.
It was one of those small, fun moments that just breaks up the day perfectly.

🌮 Condado Tacos — Dinner, Done Right
By the time dinner came around, Grandma stepped in and treated us 💜
We ordered Condado Tacos through the app and picked it up, which made everything really easy.
The Mr. got build-your-own tacos, and the kids got rice bowls 😋
Everything was packaged well, fresh, and flavorful, and one thing I always appreciate is how careful they are with food allergies. That consistency matters.
I also use their rewards pretty often, so it’s nice getting a little back on future orders without even thinking about it.
The staff are always friendly, and I’ve never had a bad experience at this location.

🛒 Dollar Tree — Simple, Easy Ending
We ended the day with a quick stop at Dollar Tree because the kids were (again 😂) ready for snacks.
The store was calm, easy to navigate, and perfect for a quick in-and-out.
We grabbed:
– Ocean Spray dried cranberries
– Better Made potato sticks
Simple, but exactly what we needed.
The staff were polite, checkout was quick, and it was just one of those easy stops that helps you wrap up the day without any stress.

💜 Final Thoughts
This day wasn’t planned to be anything big.
But it turned into:
– a proud moment for my daughter
– a few unexpected stops
– quick meals that worked
– little laughs along the way
– and just time spent together
And honestly… those are the days I love the most.
