\nWelcome, Foodie Fam!<\/p>\n
I might be stating the obvious, but I can\u2019t help it; I love food! I started as my grandma\u2019s sous chef at five years of age; cooking has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.<\/p>\n
At the age of 10, I prepared my first full meal by myself. I made two beautifully cooked sunny-side-up eggs, a few slices of bacon, buttery grits, and toast smeared with strawberry jam for my great-grandfather.<\/p>\n
I felt like I was on top of the world that day! Even though I made the grits and bacon in the microwave, the fact that his plate was empty by the time I cleaned up my mess is all that mattered to me.<\/p>\n
Since then, I couldn\u2019t stay away from cooking; the kitchen has always been my domain. Writing is a passion of mine that also runs deep into my early childhood days. Food writing is my love. It\u2019s my therapy. It\u2019s my thing.<\/p>\n
Cooking alongside older cooks in my family, I have learned many tips, tricks, and techniques along the way. Cooking is such a joy to me, and I love sharing it all with you!<\/p>\n
On June 9th, 2018, I was diagnosed with celiac disease, drastically changing my view on food. My blog made a turn from all things food to strictly gluten-free and dairy-free recipes.<\/p>\n
My family is mixed; the kids and I are strictly gluten-free\/dairy-free, while the Mr. is dairy-free. I strive to create recipes that don\u2019t use weird substitutes, taste delicious, and make eating healthy cool.<\/p>\n
I have frequent\/numerous diners of different dietary needs; some have none at all. Every recipe here on Zelandaskitchen.com is tested multiple times before being posted; If it\u2019s not 100% right, it\u2019s back to the drawing board I go! \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n
